入学要求 Requirement：
学术要求： For all our MA courses, applicants are normally expected to have a good (e.g. upper second class) degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. Non-graduate applicants (for MA ELT taught and dissertation tracks only) must have a relevant teaching qualification and several years' Englsih language teaching experience.
MA Applied Linguistics Applicants are required to have at least two years' formal language teaching experience or in an equivalent language-related profession such as translation or publishing.
英语要求：IELTS 6.5 overall, with no sub-test below 6; TOEFL paper-based test 580; For students with less than IELTS 7 (or equivalent), free additional language support is available through a specially-designed in-sessional English course during the first term of the MA course.

This MA aims to connect theory and practice in language teaching, providing up-to-date knowledge of principles and issues in the field, together with consideration of their practical implications. It is designed especially for those working in the field of English as a second/foreign language and has modules in language description, in pedagogy and in specialist-related fields with this audience in mind.
It includes general core modules : Discourse Analysis, English Grammar, Pedagogical Phonetics and Phonology, Second Language Learning Principles and Language Curriculum Design. Students will choose from a range of pedagogically oriented options, followed by a dissertation or further options.

Students must choose 3 option modules (each of 20 credits) if following the dissertation or Portfolio Tracks, and 6 option modules (each of 20 credits) if following the Taught Track, to make a total of 180 credits when combined with the other course modules and the dissertation or teaching portfolio (where relevant).
