学术要求: The basic requirement for admission to the LLM programme is a recognised first degree in law (or a degree with at least 70% law content) of at least high upper second class honours standard or an equivalent overseas qualification. Exceptionally, you may be considered where a comparable academic level has been achieved through other graduate studies, or where work or experience has made you a suitable candidate for the LLM.

This programme allows you to deepen or to broaden your knowledge of law as an academic subject and assists your development as a legal professional. Designed to maximise students' intellectual potential, it also keeps you grounded by drawing on the real world experiences of staff and other practitioners. Aimed at recent law graduates (or graduates of joint degrees with a significant law content) as well as established legal professionals who may have graduated a number of years ago, the programme is rigorous and demanding and requires serious commitment.

Core programme content
You need to study full- or half-modules (see module list below) worth 180 credits.
You select 120 credits worth of taught modules from our extensive list of modules (tailored LLM option) or modules related to a specialist pathway (specialist LLM option).
For an additional 40 credits you either write a 15,000 word dissertation (40 credits), or a 7,500 word research essay (20 credits) and study a further half-module of your choice (20 credits). To assist with your research you attend a compulsory legal skills half-module (20 credits).
教学与评估 Teaching and Assessment:
You will need to have studied the equivalent of four full modules including the compulsory elements. Modules are assessed in the third semester (May/June). Assessment is by written examination alone or through a written examination/coursework combination. You submit your dissertation or research essay in September after the May/June examinations.
