The LLM in International Corporate and Commercial Law is designed to address this complexity and is aimed at those wanting a specialised programme which introduces some key practical legal skills alongside substantive legal knowledge in the broad area of international corporate and commercial law. The programme reflects the latest innovations in legal education and topical areas of research, reflecting the strengths and experience of staff in the Law School and in other cognate departments. It should appeal to anyone with an interest in cross-border transactions and international business. The programme is designed to develop a deeper understanding of how international corporate and commercial law - broadly defined - operates in the real world. It will enable successful students to pursue a wide range of careers in business or return to professional practice with an enhanced understanding of various important area of law and practice. It also provides a firm platform for further research and study by way of an MPhil or PhD.
课程内容 Course Content：
The LLM programme comprises a flexible mix of modules and a dissertation on a research project of the student's choice.
It is intended that the programme will be based around two core modules. Indicative modules include:
Law and Commercial Transactions: This module will provide an overview of English and international corprorate and commercial law. A particular focus will be on the company as a party to trading contracts, as well as on the interplay between property, security, enforcement, and insolvency. There will also be an outline of those issues in EC law which have a bearing on the subject matter of this module.
Commercial Transactions in Practice: This module features 'learning by doing', namely a simulated transaction explored through different 'law firms'. This includes an understanding and development of negotiation, litigation, arbitration and other methods of dispute resolution.
