This MSc is designed to create expertise in the technologies needed to support broadcast, entertainment, surveillance, gaming, medical, and defence and communication industries.
The structure of the course is 12 modules taught over 7 months, followed by a 5 month industrially related project within the field. The MSc in Multimedia Systems and Communications Engineering is supported by academic staff from both the School of Engineering and the School of Computer Science.

The structure of the programme is based on 12 Master’s-level modules taught over two semesters (7 months), followed by a 5-month industrially-related research project in the field of Multimedia Systems and Communications Engineering. The core modules are delivered by research academics from the Schools of Engineering and Computer Science with key invited lectures from experienced engineers and managers from industry. A key feature of the programme is its integrated approach to teaching Multimedia Systems and Communications Engineering and the enabling technologies which provides essential preparation for a career in Multimedia Systems and Communications Engineering.
MSc students will work closely with researchers in the multidisciplinary Human Factors Technology Centre founded in 2004 by the academics of three Schools: Engineering, Computer Science and Psychology.
