The Advanced Engineering Robotics MSc is designed to provide you with a wide understanding of advanced robotics and automation systems with broad applications. It is sufficiently general to give you an excellent background for a professional career in the robotics sector whilst also providing the specialism necessary for a career as a researcher. The programme is jointly delivered by the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England, and draws on the combined expertise of both universities and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory - a world-leading facility for robotics research

You will study 120 credits at Masters level, followed by a 60 credit dissertation, making up the 180 credits needed to gain the MSc. The following topics will be taught:
Semester One (60 credits)

•Robotic Fundamentals
•Embedded Programming
•Group Project Challenge
Semester Two (60 credits)
•Advanced Dynamics
•Image Processing and Computer Vision
•Robotic Systems
•Group Project Challenge
Dissertation (60 credits)
You will start working on your dissertation during the second semester. This is a substantial piece of research work making up a third of the overall MSc. It may be possible to work on your dissertation at Bristol Robotics Laboratory or in conjunction with one of our many industrial partners.
Assessment
You will normally be assessed through examination and coursework, as well as the dissertation itself.
