A minimum of a second-class Honours degree in one of the following disciplines: computer science, mathematics, engineering or physics. However, graduates with several years of computing experience are also considered.

This programme equips you with the skills and knowledge required to develop computer game software and provides an international perspective on advancements in computer game development. We focus on the range of technical skills required by the computer game industry, including an understanding of advanced programming techniques, graphics, game engine technologies and teamwork. The programme prepares you to work in the computer game industry and related creative industries.
课程内容 Course Content:
There are three phases in the programme. In the first phase (60 credits), we introduce core knowledge and skills through modules in programming, graphics, and game technologies. In the second phase (30 credits), we emphasise the practice of computer game development through modules in research methods for gaming innovations, and entrepreneurial skills for the game industry, followed by a team exercise on the development and assessment of an actual computer game.
The third phase of the programme (90 credits) is a six-month individual system development or research project, undertaken with personal supervision in one of the School’s research groups, or in industry. Projects may be in collaboration with developers in the game industry who make up the programme’s industrial advisory board. Such developers have produced titles at a number of high-profile studios including: Traveller’s Tales (Lego Star Wars); Media Molecule (Little Big Planet); Eutechnyx (Street Racing Syndicate); Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (Formula One); Midway (Wheelman); Bizarre Creations (Project Gotham Racing); Ubisoft (Driver: Parallel Lines); and Mere Mortals (PDC World Championship Darts 2008).
