Computer simulations of experiments are becoming an increasingly important laboratory for scientific discovery.
This programmes develops expertise in the design, implementation and mathematical analysis of numerical algorithms for Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, as well as Convex and Non-Convex Optimization.
Algorithms for these classes of problems will be developed on a rigorous foundation and applied to scientific questions of current interest.
Expertise will also be gained in understanding the complications that can arise when multiple algorithms are combined for more complex simulations.
The latest generation of High Performance Parallel Computing will be used in order that simulations can be conducted at large scale.
