学术要求: To be considered for the LLM programme, candidates should normally have obtained either a Law Degree or a Joint Honours Degree with a major Law component from an approved University or Institution, at the standard of Class 2 Division I or higher (or of an equivalent standard). For advice on the international equivalence of qualifications please contact the LLM Admissions Tutor (see below).
英语要求:All candidates whose first degree was not conducted in English must take either the IELTS or TOEFL tests, and must normally achieve one of the following:
•7.0 or higher on every component of the IELTS test (preferred test system)
•110 or higher, TWE 5.0, on the internet-based TOEFL test

The LLM dissertation is carried out under the supervision of one of the Law School’s academic staff, who collectively have the reputation of being some of the very best researchers in the UK. Durham Law School was ranked 4th Law School in the UK in the 2008 RAE, an excellent result, on a par with the 2001 result. The school also returned 100% of its staff in the RAE.
Although not formally part of the LLM, students are encouraged to attend the various research events held within Durham Law School so that they gain experience of highest level of academic research.

教学与评估 Teaching and Assessment:
Teaching methods will vary depending on your choice of module, but modules are taught primarily by lectures combined with seminars (i.e. small group teaching).
Taught modules may be examined by way of a written examination in the Easter Term, or an assessed essay written during the course of the programme of studies, or both.
