学术要求： A first- or upper second-class undergraduate honours degree. Relevant work and voluntary experience will be considered, particularly in cases where candidates fall short of the academic requirement.
英语要求：IELTS 6.5, with not less than 6.5 in Writing and 6.0 in the other sections. Internet TOEFL with 90 overall including 24 in Speaking and 25 in Writing.

This MA examines a wide range of issues of contemporary relevance in global politics. More than any other, the contemporary era has thrust many of the core and emerging issues of international relations directly into our everyday lives, requiring us to reflect on them systematically. Taking the exciting and troubling times in which we live as its starting point, this degree emphasises a philosophical and historical orientation with a distinctive critical edge for which international relations at Sussex has an international reputation.

Spring term: you take two options from Complex Humanitarian Emergencies ▪ East Asia the International Political Economy ▪ Genocide in World Politics ▪ Global Governance and Multinationality ▪ Human Rights in International Relations ▪ International Law in World Politics ▪ International Relations in World History ▪ Irregular Warfare • NGOs, Social Movements and Global Civil Society ▪ Peace Processes and Post-Conflict Reconstruction ▪ Religions, Cultures and Civilisations in International Relations ▪ Rethinking Imperialism ▪ Russian and Post-Soviet Foreign and Security Policy ▪ The Ethics and Politics of Globalisation ▪ The Global Politics of Disease ▪ The Middle East in Global Order ▪ The Political Economy of Development ▪ The Political Economy of Global Finance ▪ War, Violence and Society.
Please note that not all of these options will necessarily be available in any given year. You may be allowed to take your second option from within other MA programmes at Sussex: for example, those in contemporary European studies, international development or social and political thought.
Summer term and vacation: you take Research Design and Method, which provides a forum to collaborate in developing your individual research project. You then undertake work on your dissertation.
教学与评估 Teaching and Assessment：
Foundations of World Politics is assessed by a 5,000-word term paper. International Relations Theory is assessed by an unseen examination. Assessment of spring-term options is generally by a 5,000-word term paper. The Research Design and Method course is assessed by a 2,500-word research outline paper. You will also submit a dissertation of 10,000 words.

Faculty have undertaken consultancy and commissioned work in a range of fields, including human rights, international development, and security. Many of our International Relations and Global Political Economy graduates find employment in these fields, within which we have very strong international networks.
