Graduates will gain a sound theoretical grounding in the area of Economics and Finance and develop a range of analytical and personal skills.
The programme will be aimed at those who want to develop the required knowledge and acquire the necessary skills in this subject area in order to pursue a research-oriented career in the financial industry, international organisations, central banks, academia and research institutions. This will be facilitated, specifically, by:
•Training in the key macroeconomic and microeconomic issues that are fundamental to rigorous financial decision making;
•Supporting the development of subject specific and key transferable skills necessary for employment in research-oriented organisations, institutions and corporations;
•Providing opportunities for students to acquire a range of analytical and econometric techniques required to pursue research activity in economics and/or finance;
•Enabling students to develop their IT skills and familiarity with a range of relevant financial and econometric software;
•Supporting the enhancement of skills of written and verbal communication.
