The overall aim of this programme is to provide a comprehensive and high level education in the subject of marketing, specifically marketing within the context of consumer markets (as opposed to business-to-business markets).
This programme will facilitate the process of assisting students in their career development by:
•Providing students with knowledge of the principles and current issues relevant to the role of marketing in business organisations (with specific reference to consumer markets/service sector);
•Supporting the development of subject specific and key transferable skills necessary for employment in a marketing/management function;
•Providing opportunities for students to acquire a range of analytical techniques required for the effective tactical and strategic management of the marketing function within organisations;
•Enabling students to develop their IT skills and familiarity with a range of relevant financial and statistical software;
•Supporting the enhancement of skills of written and verbal communication.

This 12-month programme consists of seven taught compulsory modules and one elective module, followed by a research project carried out over the summer period upon completion of semester two.
