This programme is focused on examining the management of global economic problems and the mechanisms of international policy coordination in the world economy. It seeks to equip students with an advanced understanding of the contemporary international forums and institutions that provide the main pillars of global governance in the world economy. It also focuses on the transition from a multilateral international system to globalisation, in particular on the changes that have taken place with respect to production, trade, finance, and monetary issues. The programme explores the recent changes in the regulatory role of the state, as well as the growing influence of private authority in global economic governance.
