A good Honours degree or equivalent recognised qualification with substantial coverage in English language and linguistics.

•IELTS* score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or
•TOEFL* score of 92 (Internet-based test) with minimum scores of 21 for Listening, 22 for Reading, 23 for Speaking and 21 for Writing

课程特征 Course Features：
The MA in English Language and Linguistics provides advanced training in the study and analysis of language. It covers core areas within linguistics and gives particular attention to the research specialisms of tutors in the School of English.
Students undertake work in phonetics and phonology, lexis and semantics, morphology and syntax, and discourse and pragmatics. Areas in which students may choose to focus include clinical phonetics and phonology, stylistics, corpus linguistics and discourse analysis.
