In the current climate of major structural change in education, both in Northern Ireland and more widely, there is an increased focus on the quality of leadership within educational institutions, and the development of managerial competence among staff at all levels.
The aim of this programme is to develop, or to enhance, knowledge and critical understanding of leadership theory and the management of change within educational institutions, and their application in the context of school improvement.
The programme aims to encourage participants, by reflecting upon their own experiences and skills in the context of the research literature, to evaluate how their own practice can be enhanced in order to contribute to the more effective operation of the institutions in which they work, or intend to work.

The award requires the successful accumulation of 180 M points including a 15,000-20,000 word dissertation, equivalent to 60 M points.
