课程特征 Course Features:
This programme will provide you with a theoretical and practical grounding in psychological research techniques, thus equipping you to go on to a Ph.D. programme in Experimental Psychology or related disciplines. Alternatively, completion of this programme can lead to the application of psychological knowledge and research skills elsewhere, such as in industry or education.
The core of this programme is a range of units on the practicalities of carrying out research, with topics such as two statistics units dealing with complex designs. The aim is to provide both a theoretical understanding and practical experience of using these techniques. There are also topics dealing with wider research skills, including presentation, writing, and analysis. Assessment is by coursework and examinations, the latter taking place at the beginning of the Summer term.
If you successfully complete the taught component of the programme, you will go on to carry out original research, supervised by an expert in the field, and complete a dissertation.
