This is a comprehensive, challenging and intensive course designed to cover the creative, managerial and commercial aspects of the industry and equip students with a complete understanding of all aspects of the global fashion business.
Students work both in teams and independently to undertake a combination of:
•theoretical teaching
•practical case studies
•project work
•structured UK and international study visits
•guest masterclasses.
Workshops, lectures, group and individual tutorials, and project presentations feature throughout.
The course will appeal to those who have some knowledge of the industry, from either a business or creative background, but recognise that they need to broaden their understanding and build their overall skill set. It aims to combine and cross-reference the strategic, practical, theoretical and creative aspects of the subject within a holistic approach.

The extensive range of international fashion industry links in the School of Art and Design ensures that the course is offered in a truly international context. Expert teaching staff offer significant creative industry and business experience, fashion specialisms and in-depth knowledge of modern visual culture, international marketing and communication.
Course content
Each key stage of 15 weeks features a study trip focusing on a particular aspects of the course.
Stage One
Management theory covers strategy, marketing, consumer and organisational behaviour. Study of industry and creative processes examines the supply chain, product development, design, trent forecasting, visual culture and styling.
Stage Two
Consideration of international theory and practices, with specific focus on finance, consumer culture, global strategy and business planning. Development of research and analytical skills.
Stage Three
Students undertake a specialist project, either theoretical or practical, the lead for which will depend on their own areas of interest and development.
教学与评估 Teaching and Assessment :
Assessments will include; a case study exam, short and long business reports, presentations, a team business project and an industry focused dissertation or major piece of research.
