课程特征 Course Features

The MSc Management Information Systems (MIS) is a postgraduate degree in business and management with a focus on the development and use of information systems (IS). It is of particular interest to students with a recently completed undergraduate degree in computing and engineering, offering an ideal way to complement their technical skills with a management degree.

This degree is suitable for those who seek careers at the crossroads of information technology (IT) and business and management. There are many career paths to choose from, as the demand for more managerially orientated computing experts is growing. You will be equipped to start your career in an IT consultancy or in an IT-related line of business where you will work closely with business departments such as marketing, accounting and human resources.

The MIS programme offers more business and management-orientated modules than any other MIS programme, to make sure you are fully aware of the core management functions: operations, strategy and financial management.

A Unique Degree Linking Business and Computing
The Management Information Systems (MIS) programme is of particular interest to those with a general management degree who seek careers where they will work closely with IT staff, or individuals employed in an IT company who work closely with business departments such as marketing, accounting and human resources.

Information and information systems are critical to the operations of almost all commercial enterprises. In addition, with the widespread use of the Internet, information systems have become increasingly useful tools for companies to establish online relationships with customers.

IT systems are now used across organisational boundaries, either in a stable business to business relationship, or in a more fluid market relationship where businesses meet each other online through electronic markets and auctions.

Good Reasons to Study at Surrey
The MIS programme is specifically designed to enhance your CV and maximise your attractiveness for the IT/IS labour market.
