We expect one of:
• a first- or upper second-class honours bachelor's degree from a United Kingdom university
• the equivalent from an overseas university
• a professional qualification which we judge to be at a comparable level.
We do not require you to have prior knowledge of information technology. This course is not designed as a 'tools and techniques' course, but one which encourages your critical thinking about wider issues outside narrow technology boundaries.
GMAT®
Candidates with certain overseas degrees, some professional qualifications, or postgraduate diplomas, may be required to take the GMAT®, to show a well-balanced score above the 80 percent level. If you are asked to take the GMAT, please make an early application and arrange for your results to be sent directly to WBS.

If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate oral and written fluency in English. We accept:
• IELTS test score of at least 7
• TOEFL test score of at least 620 (paper-based), 260 (computer-based), or 105 (internet-based).
We will require your language certificates as evidence. Ideally your test should be less than two years old.

This course focuses on teaching you to achieve business value from information and communications technology. It provides a strong foundation in the theory and practical use of information systems, together with the tools and techniques for managing technology across commercial and not-for-profit organisations. We also have an exclusive relationship with Bentley University, Boston, USA, offering a limited number of students a fantastic opportunity to study internationally. No prior knowledge of IT is required as the course develops your management and consulting skills, and encourages your critical thinking about wider issues outside narrow technological boundaries. Graduates have gone on to work mainly as managers, analysts, consultants and researchers in companies such as Ernst & Young, Citigroup, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited, and CapGemini.

Core modules
In order to gain expertise in the key elements in information systems and management, you will be required to study seven core modules.
• Foundations of Information Systems
• Enterprise Systems Development
• Global Outsourcing and Offshoring of Services
• Organisational Analysis
• Business Systems Integration & Consultancy
• Knowledge Innovation & Change
• Strategic Management of IS.
All students will also complete a week-long Information Systems Research module as part of preparation for their project & dissertation.
