Applicants should have normally have an Honours degree at 2:1 or equivalent, although significant relevant experience will also be considered.

课程特征 Course Features:
Teaching is supported by a Study Guide, describing activities and readings for preparation and follow up materials to the teaching sessions, as well as assignment details. On-line support is also available for the module through DUO (Durham University On-line). This contains further resources, lecture materials, links to library and journal articles and communication groups to maintain contact with tutors and peers.
Modules are taught in blocks spread across, usually, the first two terms. Some of the teaching is shared with the UK part-time students, whilst other modules are shared with our full-time EdD students. As a result the programme has a diverse student body, comprising colleagues from a variety of different backgrounds, which we believe enriches the student learning experience.

Group A: Modules that enable students to have a critical understanding of issues relating to teaching and learning, such as:
• Assessment
• Psychology of the Learner
• Curriculum Analysis
• Arts in Education
• Special Educational Needs
• 21st Century Technology
Group B: Modules that enable students to have a critical understanding of the organisation of education, such as:
• Policy studies
• Leading Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
• Management, Leadership and change
• Intercultural and international education
Group C: Modules that enable students to have the ability to analyse and evaluate educational research, such as: Evaluating Education Research (compulsory).
Students must take a module* from each of groups A, B and C. The fourth module may be taken from any group. The modules provided each year in each group will be announced prior to the start of the year.
教学与评估 Teaching and Assessment:
Each 30 credit taught module is assessed with a 5,000 word assignment. The Dissertation is 15,000 words.
